How it works
From a client receipt to a record.
Till receipt, invoice and bank statement take the same route: accept, extract, check, hand over. They still stay separated per client.
Extract and assign
AI-OCR reads faded till receipts and photos, the IDP agent pulls issuer, receipt date, number, net, tax rate and tax amount. Classification sorts by receipt type and period.
Check and hand over
The totals check sets net, tax and gross against each other, unclear receipts turn into a query to the client. After that comes record export or handover through the REST API to your practice software.

Questions from the practice
What practice and client ask first.
Do clients have to install anything?
No. Receipts can be uploaded in the browser, also as a saved email (.eml, .msg) whose attachments become receipts of their own. Clients who want the mobile app can use it, but nobody has to. Paper still gets scanned at your desk, and everything after that is identical.
What happens to bundled PDFs?
The PDF Splitter cuts a bundled PDF into single files at the detected document boundaries. Each single receipt is then classified, extracted and assigned to the client and the period.
Does the data reach our practice software?
The checked receipt data leaves PaperOffice as a record export, through the REST API or through a workflow. Posting, account assignment and closing stay in your practice software.
How are clients kept separate?
Through separate workspaces. Rights, processing depth and security level are set per workspace, so a handler only sees the clients assigned to them. Retention is set per document type.
What happens with unreadable receipts?
They land in the review list instead of in the books. Every field carries confidence and source location, so you can decide without digging through paper whether to correct the receipt or ask the client for a new one.
Can we define our own receipt types?
Yes. You define your own document types with retention period, folder suggestion and workflow trigger, and describe in one sentence which fields that type should deliver.
What about retention and auditability?
Filing keeps versions, retention periods per document type and an immutable log of every change. That produces the evidence your process documentation describes.
