Use PaperOffice inside ChatGPT

The same AI-DMS — connected to ChatGPT in minutes via the MCP server. Test instantly with the demo workspace or connect your own account.

Step 1

Get an API key

Choose a path. The ChatGPT connection below is identical for both.

Recommended for testing

Try it instantly — no account

Use the shared demo API key to chat with the prepared demo workspace right away — no registration required.

Demo API key

The demo key only grants access to the shared demo workspace. For your own documents, use the With account tab.

Connect PaperOffice in ChatGPT

Follow these steps in ChatGPT — in the same order as in the app. Identical for demo and your own account. Developer mode and custom plugins typically require a paid ChatGPT plan.

Step 2

Enable Developer mode

In ChatGPT open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode (Increased risk notice).

Step 3

Open Plugins and choose +

In the ChatGPT sidebar open @ Plugins, then click + next to Search plugins.

Step 4

Fill in the New plugin dialog

Paste name and MCP URL using the copy buttons — keep Server URL and OAuth. Confirm the risk checkbox, then click Create.

Step 5

Confirm in ChatGPT

In the ChatGPT consent dialog choose Sign in with PaperOffice AI — then the PaperOffice authorization page opens.

Step 6

Authorize on the PaperOffice page

Paste your API key from step 1 (demo) or step 03 (own account) and click Authorize. Return destination is ChatGPT.

Authorize MCP access

ChatGPT is requesting access to your PaperOffice account via MCP.

Step 7

Start chatting with ChatGPT

PaperOffice is connected. Start a new chat and use the plugin via @ or Sources — with the sample prompts below.

Sample prompts

Works for the demo workspace and your own account — paste into ChatGPT.

  • Which documents are in my workspace?
  • Summarize the most recent document.
  • Find all invoices and list their amounts.
  • Which contracts contain a notice period?

Enterprise-ready from the first request

  • EU-hosted infrastructure and data residency
  • Bring your own storage (BYOS) — your documents stay yours
  • Granular tools and toolsets instead of blanket access
  • Same permissions and audit trail as the AI-DMS application

Also works with Claude and Cursor

The MCP connector is not limited to ChatGPT — the same PaperOffice endpoints work in any MCP-capable client.
