Source, rules, processing.
A connector links a storage mount to a workspace. It checks the source at the configured interval and hands new files to processing.
Set the rules
File pattern such as *.pdf, subfolders yes or no, interval from minutes to weeks, post-import action keep, move or delete. For IMAP: unread only, attachments, mark as read.
Processing
Every new file lands in the target workspace and runs through its processing depth: OCR, classification, IDP fields, embeddings. Workflows and webhooks react to the result.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about connectors
Which sources can a connector monitor?
Folders via SFTP or SSH on NAS and servers, S3-compatible buckets, WebDAV directories and IMAP mailboxes. Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox connect as a storage mount via OAuth.
Do I need a storage mount first?
Yes. The storage mount holds the connection and the encrypted credentials. The connector picks a path or mailbox on it and the rules for the import.
How often does the connector check the source?
At the interval you set, from a few minutes to weeks. Before saving you see how many credits a run costs. A run can be triggered manually at any time.
What happens to the source file after import?
You define that per connector: keep, move to another folder or delete. For IMAP mailboxes the message can be marked as read.
How deep are imported files processed?
As deep as the target workspace is configured: store only, Basic with OCR and classification, Premium with extended fields and embeddings, or Ultra with checks and knowledge graph.
Can I trace errors and runs?
Yes. The live log shows every run with files, status and errors. Via webhook your system learns immediately when a document is processed.
Is there an API?
Yes. Storage mounts, import jobs and webhooks can be created and monitored via the REST API, processing itself runs through the AI-DMS endpoints.
