Everything about the Redact Agent
Which data does the Redact Agent detect?
Names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, IBANs and account numbers, card numbers, tax IDs, ID and passport numbers, dates and places of birth, licence plates and special categories such as health data, selectable by profile or category. Your custom terms are always redacted, whitelist entries stay visible.
Is content really removed or just covered?
Removed. In digital PDFs the text under each box is deleted from the file and checked again afterwards; scans are rebuilt from the redacted page images. Form fields, annotations, attachments and metadata are cleaned. The original document stays unchanged.
Can I review before redacting?
Yes. The preview marks every finding with its category, reason and legal basis. You release or add areas, draw your own rectangles and then apply. Batches with a Redact Agent run without preview, and external reviewers can approve via a review link.
What distinguishes manual, Basic, Premium and Ultra?
The Manual tier delivers OCR and bounding boxes; you mark the areas yourself. Basic blacks out whole lines and suits simple documents up to 15 pages. Premium blacks out word by word and handles scans, tables and forms up to 50 pages. Ultra checks most thoroughly, offers pseudonymization and handles up to 100 pages.
What is pseudonymization and when can I use it?
Instead of black boxes, names, addresses, dates and identifiers are replaced by consistent fictitious values, so the document stays readable, for example for AI chats. It is available with Ultra and not in the whistleblower, court, public publication and anonymous application profiles. Health data, credentials and similar data stay black.
What does redaction cost?
Per processed page, depending on the tier, from €0.05. €1 equals 1,000 credits and the same unit prices apply in app, API and MCP.
Does the Redact Agent run automatically?
A saved Redact Agent processes the documents you select, server-side and without preview, and files the copies in a target workspace. From your own systems you start it via the API for each new document. Automatic redaction of every upload by a workspace rule is not available.
Where are my documents processed?
In our own data center in the EU on our own GPU hardware. Encrypted with AES-256 and TLS 1.3, processed on RAM disk. Result files are deleted after 60 minutes, job data after 7 days. ISO/IEC 27001 certified; SOC 2 Type II in preparation.
Where are the limits of the Redact Agent?
AI detection can miss or over-mark areas, so review the preview and use Ultra for sensitive documents. Photos, faces, logos, stamps and handwritten signatures are not recognized as images: draw a box over them in the preview. Check very small embedded images and handwriting visually. Pseudonymized documents remain personal data and are not anonymous.
