The PaperOffice AI app brings its own modules to Make. You map fields between modules instead of building HTTP requests, and long jobs are polled for you.
Add the connection
In Make, add a PaperOffice AI module and create a connection with the key. Make checks the key right away and masks it in every log. Publishable keys (po_pk_) are rejected.
Map and run
Map fields between modules, for example the POFID from Watch new documents into Extract invoice data, and pass the invoice fields on to your accounting or a spreadsheet.

Upload a document takes a file from any module, Upload a document from a URL fetches it from a link. PaperOffice AI then analyzes it with OCR and AI-DMS.
- Start on new documents
Watch new documents starts the scenario when a document arrives in a workspace and passes name, type, status and dates to the next module.
- Search documents and passages
Search documents finds files by full text, meaning or both. Search document passages returns the passages that answer a question, with document and page number.
- Read text and files
Get document text returns the OCR text page by page, Download a document the original file, Get a document the details and the processing status.
- Invoice data as fields
Extract invoice data returns supplier, invoice number, dates, net, VAT and total amounts, IBAN and line items as separate fields for the next module.
- Catch duplicates
Check a document for duplicates finds identical content or the same number from the same issuer, even with a different amount, across the workspaces the key can access.
- Redact personal data
Redact a document returns a redacted PDF with black boxes, or with consistent pseudonyms on the Ultra model. A profile such as GDPR request decides what stays visible.

Security and compliance
Your key stays in the connection.
The key lives in the Make connection, not in the scenario, and is masked in every log. Documents are processed in our own EU data center.

Security and compliance Keys
po_sk_, po_ut_ or po_gt_ belong in the Make connection. Publishable keys (po_pk_) are rejected, and Make logs never show the key.
Least privilege
A group token (po_gt_) limits Make to the workspaces of its group. Search, passages, duplicate check and trigger only return documents from those workspaces.
Clear errors
A failed call stops the module with HTTP status, message and a stable error code, ready for error handlers in Make.
Data location
Documents are processed in our own EU data center. What Make keeps in scenario history or data stores follows the settings of your Make account.

Questions about Make and PaperOffice AI
Is there an official PaperOffice AI app for Make?
Yes. The PaperOffice AI app adds its own modules to Make: a trigger for new documents, actions for upload, text, invoice data, duplicate check, redaction and tags, searches for documents, passages and workspaces, and Make an API call for every other endpoint.
Which key do I need?
A secret key (po_sk_), a user token (po_ut_) or a group token (po_gt_), created in the app under Account → API. Publishable keys (po_pk_) only work in the browser and are rejected. The API is available on every plan, including Free.
What does a module run cost?
Calls are billed in PaperOffice AI credits, at least 5 credits per billable call. Invoice extraction and redaction are billed per page according to the model. Job status checks and the connection check are free. Make counts its own operations separately.
What happens with long jobs?
Extract invoice data and Redact a document wait up to about four minutes. If a job takes longer, the module returns the job ID and the current status. Get a job reads the result later, for a redaction including the link to the redacted PDF.
How does redaction decide what stays visible?
You choose a profile such as GDPR subject access request, external sharing or court proceedings, plus terms that must stay visible or must always be redacted. Pseudonyms instead of black boxes require the Ultra model and are not available for profiles such as whistleblower reports or court proceedings.
How does the duplicate check work?
It compares the content as well as the document number and issuer, so a resent invoice with a different amount is also flagged. It returns up to five candidates, earliest first, and only from workspaces the key can access. Right after an upload, the status stays pending_analysis until the analysis is finished.
Does a group token see all documents?
No. A group token only sees the workspaces of its group, in every module: workspace selection, search, passages, duplicate check and the trigger for new documents.
Can a scenario start when a document arrives?
Yes. Watch new documents checks a workspace for new documents on the schedule of your scenario and passes each document to the next module. From Professional, a webhook subscription can also report document.processed to a Make custom webhook.
Can AI agents in Make use PaperOffice AI?
Yes, through an MCP client in Make with the server URL https://mcp.paperoffice.ai/dms. Sign-in runs via OAuth 2.1 or a po_ut_ or po_gt_ token. Which tools are available depends on your plan.
Is there also an integration for n8n?
Yes. n8n works with its standard HTTP Request, Webhook and MCP Client nodes against the same REST API and the same MCP server. There is no dedicated n8n node.
Where is the data stored?
Documents that Make sends to PaperOffice AI are processed in our own EU data center. Module outputs that Make keeps in scenario history or data stores follow the settings of your Make account.
