Send documents from Nextcloud to PaperOffice AI automatically or with one click. The app is coming to the Nextcloud App Store; until then it can be installed manually from GitHub.

Features
What it does
- Inbox folder: each user chooses a folder in their own files (default
PaperOffice-Inbox). A background job uploads new files every 5 minutes and moves them to_uploaded. - Failed uploads go to
_failed, each with a short note. - Send to PaperOffice AI: a file action in the Files app sends a single file right away.
- Your own key: each user connects with their own API key. The key is stored encrypted and is never shown again.
- Admin control: administrators can limit the app to certain groups. Keys of users outside those groups are removed automatically.
- Supports Nextcloud 31 to 35 and needs outbound HTTPS to api.paperoffice.ai.
Setup
Set up in a few steps
- Create a User token (po_ut_…) in PaperOffice AI under Account → API.
- Install the app: copy the repository to
custom_apps/paperoffice_aiand runocc app:enable paperoffice_ai. An App Store listing is planned. - Open Personal settings → PaperOffice AI and paste your token.
- Choose your inbox folder, or use Send to PaperOffice AI on a file.
- Check that processed files move to
_uploaded.

Questions and answers
Why is the app not in the App Store yet?
The App Store listing is waiting for Nextcloud to process our request for an app signing certificate. This page will be updated when the app is listed.
Are results written back to Nextcloud?
No. Files are copied to PaperOffice AI. Extracted fields and searchable PDFs are not written back, and files in Nextcloud are never deleted.
Which files are skipped?
The app skips received shares and external storage in the inbox. It also does not send shared files whose owner has blocked downloads. No specific plan is required. Usage is billed to your PaperOffice AI account as usual. Document processing (OCR, extraction, classification) runs on PaperOffice's own hardware in its own data center in Navarra, Spain (EU), without external AI providers.
