The universal interface connects systems without a ready-made recipe. Your system sends JSON to PaperOffice or provides it via HTTPS, and a mapping assigns the fields.
You choose push (ingest URL), pull REST (HTTPS JSON), JSON file (HTTPS) or JSON records. For pull and file you enter a public HTTPS URL and the authentication. For push you copy the ingest URL into your ERP or shop after saving.
In the Mapping tab you set array, key and status path as JSON dot paths, plus lookup fields such as order, postal code, phone, tracking number, SKU, EAN or supplier order.
The preview maps up to 20 records without saving them. Then you sync by pull or send the first data by push. After verification, website chat and phone agent answer.
Capabilities
If your system can send or provide JSON over HTTPS, the universal interface brings its data to your agents.
Your system sends records via HTTPS POST to a secret URL. After a token rotation only the new address is valid.
PaperOffice fetches a JSON response on an interval. Authentication via bearer token, API key or custom header.
Fetch a JSON file via HTTPS or store records directly as JSON in the source.
Array, key and status path plus lookup fields as JSON dot paths. Keep the whole row or map fields one by one.
Orders, shipments, supplier orders and prices in the selection, invoices, returns and quotes via the collection field.
Your raw status values are mapped to fixed values: six for shipping, five for invoices, five for returns.
Test up to 20 records before anything is saved.
Only public HTTPS targets on port 443, protection against internal addresses, no redirects. Credentials are stored encrypted.
Security and compliance
The universal interface only reads and writes nothing back to your ERP or shop. Credentials are stored encrypted, and the mirror is kept in our own data center in the EU.
Frequently asked questions
Systems that send or provide JSON over HTTPS, for example an ERP, a shop or a WMS. There are ready-made recipes for JTL-Wawi and Holded, other systems use this interface.
Push if your system can actively send data: up to 500 records per call and up to 60 calls per 10 minutes and source. Pull if your system provides a JSON response via HTTPS: one response per run with at most 500 records, without paging. Send large stocks by push in packages.
Then the run discards the whole response and applies nothing. Split the stock or send it by push in packages.
In the Mapping tab with JSON dot paths, for example data.orders as array path and order.number as key path. Add the status path and lookup fields for order, postal code, phone, tracking number, SKU, EAN and supplier order. The preview shows up to 20 records before you save.
Only JSON over HTTPS on port 443. XML, CSV, Excel, SQL and direct database access are not supported, nor is pull via VPN or Reverse SSH.
No. Data flows only to PaperOffice. Push and pull create or update records but do not delete individual ones.
PaperOffice applies push data on arrival. Pull runs on an interval between 15 minutes and 7 days, plus Sync now. Pull does not offer real-time sync.
You add the source with Knowledge Base AI from the Plus plan. Answers in the website chat or on the phone require Conversation AI from the Professional plan.
