What it does
- Attach a supplier invoice (PDF or image) to a draft vendor bill and click Read with PaperOffice AI.
- Fills empty fields only: vendor reference, invoice date, due date and, while the bill has no lines, the currency. Fields you already filled are never overwritten.
- Matches the vendor by VAT number or exact company name.
- Creates bill lines from the invoice line items, or one line with the net amount, with the purchase tax that matches the VAT rate on the document.
- Shows checks as warnings on the bill: net plus VAT against the document total, bill total against the document total, and whether the IBAN belongs to a known bank account of the vendor.
- Posts the extracted values to the chatter. You can send up to 20 draft bills at once from the list view.
- Nothing is confirmed or paid automatically.
Setup
Set up in a few steps
- Create a PaperOffice AI account and, under Account → API, a User token (po_ut_…).
- Install the module PaperOffice AI from the Odoo Apps store (Odoo 17.0 or 18.0).
- In Odoo, open Accounting → Configuration → Settings → PaperOffice AI, switch the feature on and paste the token.
- Open a draft vendor bill, attach the invoice and click Read with PaperOffice AI.
- Review the filled bill and the warnings before you confirm it.
FAQ
Questions and answers
Are new vendors created automatically?
No. If the vendor is not found, the bill shows a warning. Check the taxes on created lines before you confirm the bill, especially if the document has several VAT rates.
What data leaves Odoo?
Only the attached document of the bill you selected, and only when a user with billing rights clicks the button. The feature is off until an administrator switches it on.
What does it cost to use?
No specific plan is required. Usage is billed to your PaperOffice AI account as usual. Document processing (OCR, extraction, classification) runs on PaperOffice's own hardware in its own data center in Spain (EU), without external AI providers.
