With the PaperOffice MCP server, Claude becomes an assistant for your document archive: search documents, summarize content, query workspaces — all in chat. The connection takes only a few minutes.
Get your user token ready
In PaperOffice, open PaperOffice Account → API and copy your user token (starts with po_ut_ or po_gt_). You will paste this token during authorization. Secret keys (po_sk_) are blocked for MCP and will not work.
Open “Customize” in the Claude sidebar
In Claude, select Customize at the bottom left of the sidebar.
Open Connectors and add a connector
Under “Customize”, choose Connectors, click + at the top right, and select Add custom connector.
Fill in the connector dialog
Enter the name and MCP URL — leave “Advanced settings” closed; no OAuth client ID is needed. Then click Add.
Name: PaperOffice AI
Remote MCP server: https://mcp.paperoffice.ai/claude
Authorize on the PaperOffice page
Claude opens a window on mcp.paperoffice.ai. Paste your user token (po_ut_ / po_gt_) there and click Authorize — not in Claude’s OAuth fields.
Review tool permissions
Back in Claude, review the tool permissions of the new connector. For the full feature set, choose Always allow for all tool groups.
Chat with Claude
PaperOffice is connected. Ask Claude, for example:
Show me the last five invoices from my workspace and summarize the amounts.
