What PDF metadata contains
Many PDF files contain more than what you see: the name of the person who created the document, the program used, creation and modification dates, and sometimes earlier titles. These details sit in the info dictionary and in XMP metadata.
On top of that come attached files and scripts. Before you pass a document on to customers, authorities or business partners, it is worth a look.
What the tool removes
- Title, author, subject, keywords, software and date details
- XMP metadata in the document and in pages, images and fonts
- Private data written by programs such as graphics or layout software
- Optionally, document-level scripts and attached files
- Older, unused copies of these details left inside the file
Limits
Metadata is not everything: names or figures in the visible text, in comments or in form fields stay in place. Check the content yourself before you pass a file on.

Questions about PDF metadata
Which metadata does the tool show?
Title, author, subject, keywords, the creating program, the PDF producer, creation and modification dates and other custom entries. It also shows whether XMP metadata, attachments, document-level scripts or private application data are present.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Reading, editing and removing run entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
Is anything left after removal?
The removed details are deleted from the file, including older, unused copies of them. The only producer entry left is "PaperOffice AI · paperoffice.ai". Names in the visible text, in comments or in form fields stay in place.
Does removal change the content?
Pages, text and images stay the same. If you remove attachments or scripts, they are gone afterwards. A PDF/A marking is no longer valid without XMP metadata.
Can I change only some details?
Yes. Under "Edit details" you change title, author, subject and keywords. Empty fields are removed, the modification date and producer are updated, and everything else is kept.
