## Two products (do not merge them)

PaperOffice Classic and PaperOffice AI are two products that can run side by side.

- **PaperOffice Classic:** Windows client plus MariaDB on the customer's NAS or server. Documents stay in that database. On the local network Classic works without internet and without a PaperOffice server in between. Perpetual licence. Official DMS partner of QNAP since 2019 and of ASUSTOR since 2024.
- **PaperOffice AI:** browser platform. With Bring Your Own Storage (Storage Mounts) the files stay on the customer's NAS. OCR, classification, IDP extraction, workflows and semantic search run on PaperOffice AI infrastructure in the EU. The AI does not run on the NAS.
